Community Outreach & Engagement

The Quarry Innovation Center is a proposal to permanently close the Guadalupe Quarry and transform a long-industrialized site into a center for advanced manufacturing and innovation while preserving significant open space and supporting long-term stewardship of San Bruno Mountain.

From the beginning, we have believed that a project of this scale should be shaped through ongoing dialogue with the community. Over the past several years, we have conducted extensive outreach to share information, answer questions, gather feedback, and better understand the priorities of Brisbane residents. Community input has played an important role in the evolution of the project, including reductions in project size, lower building heights, refinements to site planning, and a transition to advanced manufacturing as the proposed use.

This page highlights the many ways community members can learn about the project, ask questions, review information, and participate in the planning process:

Community Open Houses

In-person community meetings designed to share project updates, gather feedback, and facilitate direct conversations between residents and the project team.

Community Letters

Public letters providing detailed information about key project topics, updates, and responses to questions raised during the review process.

Virtual Office Hours & FAQs

Regular opportunities to meet with project representatives, ask questions, and review answers to the most common topics raised by community members.

Luminary Ads

A series of informational advertisements published in The Luminary that explain important project topics, highlight community feedback, and describe how the project has evolved over time.

Quarry Subcommittee Presentations

Presentations to the Brisbane City Council Quarry Subcommittee, providing public updates on project refinements, environmental review, and ongoing community engagement efforts.

SB 131 CEQA Exemption for Advanced Manufacturing

Our team remains committed to completing a full Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for this project and will not pursue a CEQA Exemption for advanced manufacturing under SB 131.

Community Open Houses

As part of our Community Outreach and Engagement, we’re hosting in-person interactive open houses. These open houses provide an opportunity for Brisbane residents and other stakeholders to meet our team, ask questions and provide feedback as the project progresses.

We hosted Open Houses in April and June 2025, and will evaluate hosting more as the Development Agreement and Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) advance.

Use the form below to sign up for more information about future Open Houses.

Community Letters

Orchard Partners, the Quarry Innovation Center developer, has released open letters from Tyler Higgins, our Managing Director, to the Brisbane community as an opportunity to share our thoughts and response to community feedback in an extended format.

You can read the letters on our website by clicking the buttons below. You can also view PDFs of the letters from the pages linked below.

Virtual Office Hours

Join us for Virtual Office Hours to learn more about the Guadalupe Quarry Redevelopment Project and ask questions directly to our team.

In addition to our in-person Open Houses, these interactive online sessions provide an opportunity to connect with our team, discuss key details about the development and share your thoughts in a convenient virtual format. The questions we receive during our Virtual Office Hours will be used to develop our Frequently Asked Questions document.

We’re hosting two sessions each month to accommodate different schedules and ensure broad community participation. Whether you’re curious about environmental impacts, project timelines, advanced manufacturing, community benefits or any other aspect of the redevelopment, our team is here to provide answers and engage in meaningful dialogue about Brisbane’s future. Our Virtual Office Hours are recorded and posted online.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re keeping track of the questions we receive from Open Houses, Virtual Office Hours, our website and other sources and creating a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. You can view a live version of our FAQ on Google Drive by clicking the button below.

This document is a work in progress, and we are continually working on responses to your questions.

Luminary Ads

As part of our ongoing community engagement efforts, we have published a series of sponsored advertisements in The Luminary to provide information about the Quarry Innovation Center and encourage public participation in the planning process.

Each advertisement focuses on a specific topic—including environmental stewardship, community benefits, project design, conservation funding, and long-term commitments to Brisbane. Together, they reflect questions, feedback, and priorities we’ve heard from residents throughout the review process and highlight ways the project has evolved in response to community input and ongoing conversations with the Brisbane community.

We believe informed community dialogue begins with access to information. The advertisements below are intended to help residents better understand the project, learn about proposed changes and commitments, and stay engaged as planning for the Quarry Innovation Center continues.
